Threads, the “Twitter killer” app launched by Facebook's parent company Meta last year, has not disclosed how many users have joined the platform since President Trump easily defeated Vice President Kamala Harris.

But as of Tuesday, Mark Zuckerberg's site was the highest-rated “free” app on Apple's App Store. Bluesky ranks seventh on the list of free apps, ahead of Instagram, Facebook, and X.

Threads now has more than 275 million monthly users, up from 150 million in April.

Although Bluesky and Threads are growing in user numbers, they are far behind X, which has 318 million monthly users, according to market intelligence firm Sensor Tower.

The Post has reached out to Bluesky and Threads' parent company Meta for comment.

Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion in 2022 and later rebranded the site as “X,” has supported Trump and actively promoted Trump's candidacy during the campaign.

Threads, a subsidiary of Meta, became the highest-rated “free” app on Apple's App Store on Tuesday. Reuters

The tycoon has attended several of Trump's rallies and reportedly intends to wield considerable influence during his second term.

Under Musk's ownership, X also reversed its previous management's content moderation and censorship policies that had banned Trump and other right-wing commentators, including the satirical news site Babylon Bee.
