Jasmine Jordan, national president of the Young America’s Foundation (YAF), told Breitbart News that the radicalization of the left on college campuses in recent years has led non-conservative students to begin to disassociate themselves from the political left.
Jordan told Breitbart News’ Emma Jo Morris that “even if you’re someone who leans left,” he finds himself still siding with conservatives on certain issues as the left has taken increasingly strange positions in recent years.
“There are some people on the left and center who support various segments of the LGBTQ community but don’t believe men should participate in women’s sports,” Jordan said while speaking with Morris at YAF’s National Conservative Students Conference in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday.
“It was really important to feature Chloe Cole’s detransition story,” Jordan added. [to campus] Because, personally, I had never heard of detransition. What is a woman? I got a call from Matt Walsh and it was a total shock.”
“It’s great that they’re able to get out of that and see the light in their lives, and it shows that it’s possible to change your life instead of constantly being immersed in a very harmful ideology.”
As Breitbart News reported, Cole, an adult woman who attempted to transition to a man as a minor and then aborted the transition, has been outspoken on the issue and filed a lawsuit against Kaiser Hospital and other medical institutions in 2023, alleging “medical negligence.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Jordan told Morris that leftists are “doing so much stupid stuff” on campus that centrists have decided “they’re crazy. I want to hear what these people are thinking.” [conservative] The speaker has to say it.”
“By remaining bold and unwavering in our beliefs, we’ve been able to show students who we are,” she added. “I think it’s really cool that we’ve been able to be an example of what conservative leadership looks like and how welcoming and inclusive we are, even though the left claims we’re not conservative.”
