Yankees’ Jasson Dominguez showing major improvement in the field

So far in Jasson Domínguez’s career, playing on the left field so far is hopeful that it’s hard to imagine him sticking to the spot, from bad jumps to troublesome routes.

However, the Yankees kept him there, and Dominguez looked better than ever in Monday’s 4-1 victory over the Royals in the Bronx.

Dominguez later made an excellent play, leading the sixth time in Jonathan India’s drive to the warning track.

“He’s keeping getting better,” Aaron Boone said. “They were two really good things. What I like is the ease of the route. That’s where he’s grown since the start of the season. He uses the right footwork and moves to the ball.”

Dominguez said he was used to not being in the center yet, and that he had more space to run there.

Despite the improvements, Boone still hit Dominguez at the bottom of the 8th, removing Dominguez from Cody Bellinger, who finished the game on the left.

Bellinger was put on hold from his fourth starting lineup in his first 16 games.

Bellinger, which was bought in December through trade from the Cubs, has already dealt with back tension and food poisoning this year, but Boone said his absence on Monday was due to schedule and they have been on consecutive 13th consecutive year without off-days.

“I’ve been trying to manage him for the last 13 days in a row,” Boone said. “And it’s April, he has a back thing and is still undergoing treatment there.”

Boone added that Bellinger “is doing well. I want to pick a few spots here.”

According to Boone, Bellinger can also turn off another game when the team goes to Cleveland in a week.

“That’s important [Grisham] I’m continuing to play,” Boone said of the centre fielder who served as home on Monday.

It’s all part of a late start from the inconsistent Bellinger, with only two extra-bass hits (a whopping 15 strikeouts) with a 53-plate appearance.

Luke Weaver has excelled in six appearances from the bullpen, including Monday’s scoreless innings, but his speed has been significantly reduced since a year ago, with his four seamers dipping averaged from 95.7 mph to 92.9 mph, with cutters ranging from 91.3 to 87.7.

But it collided with the Royals. Boone said before the game that he believed it would happen when Weaver fell into the flow of the season.

Weaver is part of a bullpen effort that played Kansas City scoreless in four innings on Monday, and has not allowed him to score in the last 11¹/innings.

One of the most recent bright spots in the rotation was Will Warren, who won his first MLB victory on his final outing.

Despite the declining importance of that statistics in recent years, the 25-year-old said it still weighs.

“It’s a big deal to get it,” Warren said. Lots of people are really good. ”

A struggling Marcus Stroman receives a shot of Cortisone on Sunday in his bulky left knee and then begins to throw, depending on how he reacts.

And Lewis Gill, who stood by in LAT tensions until at least June, could start the throwing program on Wednesday or Thursday if he got OK from the doctor.

Without Gil, Gerrit Cole and Clarke Schmidt, Boone admitted that the starting rotation would have walked too many batters overall.
