Jon Barty was due to play in a rehab match this weekend.
Instead, the utility infielder will travel to New York on Saturday to get another PRP injection in his calf after a sour spell last week, and the Yankees hope he’ll be able to resume running again next week.
“It’s not an imminent situation right now,” manager Aaron Boone said before Friday’s 6-1 win over the Rays at Yankee Stadium to open the second half of the season. “This setback was a minor one, not enough to get him back on track.” [the start]… It’s going to be a little longer.”

The 34-year-old Berti, who can play second base, shortstop and left field, was batting .273 with four hits and a .649 OPS before the injury.
The Yankees were expected to make moves to acquire an infielder ahead of the trade deadline on July 30, but it currently looks unlikely they will be able to bring Berti back by then.

Anthony Rizzo He’s still not making much progress in his recovery from his broken arm.
“He’s definitely making progress, but it’s slow,” Boone said.
After the Yankees designated relief pitcher Scott Efros for assignment on Sunday Regarding his promotion to Triple-A where he can continue recovering from Tommy John surgery and back surgery, Boone said it’s important for him to keep pitching as a relief pitcher.
“[We’re] We’ll keep an eye on that and hopefully one day he’ll step up and help us out,” Boone said.
Cody Poteet (Tight triceps) has allowed him to throw lightly from the mound, but he said he’s “close” to throwing official bullpen pitches.
The Yankees took another gamble on left-handed pitching, signing Thomas Pannone. He signed a minor league contract and was assigned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The 30-year-old has a career 5.46 ERA in 50 major league games (13 starts) with the Blue Jays and Brewers.
He started for the Cubs’ Triple-A affiliate this season and had a 4.37 ERA in 19 starts before being released on Wednesday.
