Tampa – An injury has begun due to the Yankees rotation.
Lewis Gill shortened the bullpen session Friday after experiencing tension near his right shoulder, coach Aaron Boone said.
This year's real-life Al Rookie heads to the MRI on Saturday to find out what's wrong.
“He just felt tight and couldn't really let go,” Boone told Stein Brenner Field.
“When pitchers stop the bullpen, that's a concern. But I also don't want to go too far. I see what we have. But whenever they draw themselves out of the bullpen on a few pitches, that's a concern.”
Gill cruised past his previous career-high innings in last season. It was removed from Tommy John's surgery for two years.

“Hopefully, it's not too serious, but it feels like it's going to take some time,” Boone said.
Gill's injury was predicted to have Marcus Stromann into camp, so it's not a strange man, but opens the door to rotation.
