Yankees losing ground in free-agency battle with Mets, Red Sox

Juan Soto's free agency is expected to finally materialize as five teams prepare to make final bids, with the prospect opening his checkbook to acquire the 26-year-old star.

Betting odds, available on offshore betting platform Bovada, show the Yankees and Mets as joint favorites (-120 each) to win Soto, ahead of the Dodgers, Red Sox and Blue Jays.

The Yankees were heavy favorites at the start of free agency, so the odds have fluctuated wildly since the start.

DraftKings Sportsbook previously released odds after the World Series, and the Yankees were -225 favorites to win (69.23 percent probability).

The Mets were in second place with +380 odds (20.83% implied probability).

DraftKings has defied the odds, and with news expected to be announced any minute now, the only books it will take the plunge are unregulated offshore books.
