Judge was placed on the injured list last Friday after a right calf strain forced him to leave a game against the Minnesota Twins. Throughout the weekend, neither Judge nor the team provided details on the injury’s severity.
By Tuesday, Boone characterized the strain as “moderate grade,” sharing that Judge received a PPP injection and would refrain from any physical activity for the next few days.
This is where things start to look bleak.
If the regular season wrapped up today, we’d witness a thrilling 3-game AL Wild Card series pitting the Yankees against their archrivals, the Boston Red Sox. For New York, this matchup would be a major stress test, especially given the impressive run the Red Sox have had this season.
