The Yankees received a warm welcome ahead of their showdown with the Detroit Tigers in the Little League Classic.
The pinstriped American League East leaders received a hero’s welcome from fans when they arrived in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for Sunday’s Little League Classic.
The game, scheduled to start at 7:10 p.m. ET, originally made its MLB debut in 2017 between the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals.
This will be the Yankees’ first time attending the game, which typically draws more than 2,000 fans.
Many Yankees players were seen signing autographs and chatting with fans on their way to the ballpark to watch the game, including stars Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Juan Soto.
Of course, the games are being played in tandem with the Little League World Series, which began earlier this month and is scheduled to conclude in late August.
New York still has a team left in the mix, currently in the third round of the tournament’s losers bracket, where they will face each other again next week.
The tournament was played using a double-elimination format, and the Staten Island native won two straight games after losing his first match of the tournament.
Staten Island defeated Hinsdale, Ill., 4-0 on Sunday.
The Yankees are looking to win the championship after winning the first two games of the series against the Tigers.
A win would give the Bronx Bombers three straight wins in the series and improve their record to 74-51.
