When Game 5 of the World Series ended with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which was celebrated at Yankee Stadium, all Pinstripe fans had to hear Frank Sinatra's timeless “New York, New York” leaving their seats.
If losing the World Series wasn't enough, I poured salt into the wounds after hearing that song playing victory or defeat at Yankee Stadium all season.
It seems there is no more Yankees tradition as a team spokesman confirmed to the New York Post on Sunday that the “New York theme” would not play after a loss in the Bronx.

Instead, a rotation of the song is performed after the Yankees lose at home. An example was Sinatra's iconic song “It's Life.” This comes after Sunday's spring training defeat at George M. Stein Brenner Field in Tampa, Florida.
The Yankees are a long-standing team and remain as is. However, some tweaks of these traditions have been made, and the songs that are smashing over the speakers at Yankee Stadium are the latest.
The biggest change that has been sought by many people on and off the field is the new facial hair policy.
Yankees Judge Aaron reveals whether he will grow one, his stance on the beard's policy
Since 1976, the move was considered as surprising as non-musker facial hair has not been permitted by Yankees players, coaches or members of staff. Now General Managing Partner Halstein Brenner announced Friday that he will be able to see “good care” beards on the faces of players, coaches or staff.
“In recent weeks, I have spoken to numerous former and current Yankees across several eras, drawing on their perspective on facial hair and grooming policies over the years, and thanking them for their serious and diverse feedback. “It's done.”

“These latest conversations are an extension of an ongoing internal dialogue that dates back several years ago, and ultimately, the final decision is up to me: Beard moving forward.
The Yankees team manual states, “All players, coaches and male executives are prohibited from displaying hair on faces other than mustaches. [except for religious reasons]and scalp hair may not be grown under the collar. Long sideburns and mutton chops are not specifically prohibited. ”
Now, we don't know what to think of a well-maintained whisker as accurately as it is, but this is a big deal for the Yankees and their fan base, said longtime play-by-play commentator Michael Kay.
Yankees captain Judge Aaron said he won't grow beard despite changes to the rules, but Steinbrenner may not want to join the Yankees in free agency due to non-bear rules He pointed out what he suggested.

“I didn't think it was such a big deal in the last few weeks. I think the rules are good. I think it helps a lot of people. The players we help us win the game are all for that. I'll be on board,” the judge said.
With non-bearing rules being discarded (to some extent) and played after defeat, bright Sinatra aims to see the Yankees return to the World Series with a new look and feel towards the 2025 season.
