Radio personality Charlamagne engaged in a discussion with Jaime Harrison, who led the Democratic National Committee (DNC) from 2021 to 2025. During a recent episode of Breakfast Club, he suggested that President Joe Biden should resign ahead of the 2024 election, indicating that he “might be finished.”
“There have always been whispers about how the DNC operates, suggesting they ‘pick’ their preferred candidates,” co-host DJ Envy remarked before Harrison reacted, saying, “That’s a load of nonsense.”

Charlamagne responded with a firm, “No, absolutely not,” to DJ Envy’s comments.
“If I’m the DNC chair, what power do I actually have to choose? Seriously?” Harrison asked, receiving agreement from both Charlamagne and DJ Envy.
Charlamagne added, “You should definitely have some agency here.”
Harrison noted, “Do you think he paid any attention? This is incredibly significant,” to which Charlamagne replied, “He listened to someone’s experiences, at least in some way.”
The former DNC chair remarked, “Ultimately, it became clear to the president that this internal conflict was actually tearing the party apart, and he didn’t want to shoulder that alone.”
Despite this, Charlamagne expressed doubt about Harrison’s perspective and urged him to clarify his stance, saying, “You need to accept that he’s not right for this anymore.”
“Everyone knew he was getting too old for this. He was supposed to be a temporary solution from the start,” Charlamagne asserted.
Harrison acknowledged the point but countered, “I understand that, but someone needs to take charge. If you believe Biden is too old, then real candidates should step up and say, ‘I’m running.'”
Charlamagne replied, “Challenging the sitting president is, well, risky. It’s not exactly standard practice, you know?” Harrison questioned, “Is it typical for the DNC chair to ask the president if it’s time to step aside?”
“Yes,” Charlamagne reaffirmed.
