'You Should Be Dismissed': Megyn Kelly Criticizes CNN’s Abby Phillip

SiriusXM Host Megyn Kelly Critiques CNN’s Abby Philippe

On Thursday’s episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” host Megyn Kelly took aim at CNN’s Abby Philippe, suggesting she should be let go from her position. Kelly shared clips highlighting Philippe’s comments, which seemed to deviate from a discussion initiated by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez regarding U.S. troop involvement in Taiwan amid a potential attack from China.

Kelly did not hold back, questioning what Philippe thought she was achieving at CNN, particularly considering the network’s dwindling viewership numbers, which had plummeted to under 400,000. “Are you really going to pretend you’re fulfilling CNN’s need for balanced reporting? Because it’s not working. No one is tuning in,” Kelly stated. She added, “You should be fired, and that smug demeanor of yours deserves to be erased.”

She further criticized Philippe’s approach, arguing that if she tried to venture into independent media after a potential CNN fallout, it would likely be unsuccessful, given what Kelly saw as a monotone delivery and a persistent critique of conservatives. “It’s hard to listen to her,” Kelly remarked, noting there seemed to be more panelists than viewers during her segments.

Kelly also took offense to an incident where Philippe allowed left-wing podcaster Jennifer Welch to label White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller as a “Nazi Jew.” This comment was made on Welch’s podcast, “I’ve Had It,” when Philippe appeared as a guest. Kelly expressed disbelief that Philippe didn’t challenge such language, calling it cowardly and highlighting the need for accountability in discussions.

In a reflection of CNN’s shifting political stance, Philippe recognized on “The Breakfast Club” in October that the network has moved to a more center-left position. “We’re probably center-left, and I think that has a lot to do with our audience,” she acknowledged.
