A special honor was bestowed on Saturday night in Houston, Texas, to a group of young people undergoing or currently undergoing cancer treatment.
For several years, MD Anderson hosted KHOU reports that it’s prom night for teenagers and their families who have endured a lot on their health journeys.
Brody Persh was one of the young people who enjoyed a recent gathering. He’s also celebrating because his tumor is no longer cancerous after he underwent treatment at MD Anderson.
“I’m excited. It’s my first time and I didn’t know there was a prom for us teenagers,” he said.

KHOU said the young people undergoing treatment enjoyed a fashion show, live music and food. They also had the services of a hairdresser and wore special jewelry and tuxedos so they could look their best on their big night.
In the evening dubbed “An unforgettable night at Prom Partypalooza in the Enchanted Forest.”

Tomica Gamble, pediatric program director at MD Anderson, told KHOU on Saturday that prom is truly a community event.
“We’re there to entertain, bring joy, and give joy. We want them to forget their pain for just a moment and just live and be happy. They. ‘s smile alone will give you instant gratification,” Gamble said.
Another unique prom experience occurred in March when a nonprofit organization in Omaha, Nebraska, organized a fun night for young people with special needs, Breitbart News reported.
“This is the first event of its kind without an age restriction, allowing more people to participate and experience something truly amazing,” the store said.
