Young Mets fans got baseball fans in tears over the weekend after crowd Mike caught the supporters and gave honest opinions on one of rescuer Danny Young's pitches.
The Mets faced the Astros in their spring training opening game at Clover Park in Port St. Lucy, Florida on Saturday afternoon, with Young on the mound at the fourth top and Pedro Leon on the plate.
The 0-1 pitch from Young reached that mark and went outside to reach the backstop.
Spring training is when players leave the kink before the regular season, but it is still acceptable for one fan who is sitting near one of the crowd microphones and can hear loudly and clearly on Sny broadcasts It wasn't on the pitch.
“None of them. They're a bad pitch,” fans can say.
After a brief pause from the Sny broadcast, there was a short laugh.
“Cut the slack, kids.” One person wrote it jokingly on social media according to the clip.
“I think he's heard a lot of Karen in Little League games.” Another person wrote on X.
“The kids know you have to throw that good pitch.” Written by a third party.
Young pitched one inning on Saturday, hitting one batter while giving up one run on one hit.
The Mets won 6-2 against the Astros in front of 7.394 fans. Clay Holmes was believed to have won his team debut.
The game also featured Juan Soto's first home run in the Mets uniform, pushing the ball 426 feet above the fence on the field in the center left.
“It means everything we do is rewarded,” Soto said after the match. “We've been working really hard to be ready for this offseason, feeling better and ready to be in the best place of the year.”
