Young Republican National Federation Calls for Resignations Amid Controversy
The Young Republican National Federation is demanding immediate resignations from certain members following a report by Politico that revealed disturbing comments from leaked group chats. These chats featured racist, anti-Semitic, and violent remarks.
In a statement, the Young Republicans National Federation expressed their outrage at the “vile and inexcusable language” highlighted in the article. They described the behavior as shameful and not reflective of the values the Republican movement stands for. A post on their Instagram highlighted their stance on this issue.
The federation emphasized that those involved should resign from their positions within all levels of Young Republican organizations to maintain a standard of integrity and professionalism.
Politico’s report included messages from chats that lasted over seven months among young Republican leaders in New York, Kansas, Arizona, and Vermont.
Allegations from the leaked chats involve members of a Telegram group called “RESTOREYR WAR ROOM,” who reportedly used derogatory terms to refer to black individuals and made horrific remarks about political opponents. There’s mention of discussions about gas chambers and violent actions against rivals.
The leaked messages contained various racial slurs and highlighted some discussions as particularly shocking, including comments about sexual violence, which the report labeled “horrific.”
A White House official responded to the report, stating that there is no official connection to the group chat and noting that numerous groups have reached out to the White House seeking approval.
This troubling news coincides with ongoing discussions about political violence, especially in the wake of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a Minnesota lawmaker’s killing, and an assassination attempt on President Trump.
In related news, pressure is building on Jay Jones, Virginia’s Democratic attorney general candidate, to step down after leaked texts where he discussed violent intentions toward former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert.
Calls for Jones’s resignation have come from various Republicans in Virginia, including prominent figures like President Trump and Vice President Vance.
