Your body isn’t divine: Jen Hatmaker’s New Age falsehoods revealed

Jen Hatmaker’s New Book Explores Marriage and Faith

In her recent book, “Awake,” Jen Hatmaker reflects on her marriage’s painful unraveling. However, the narrative takes a more troubling turn as it also chronicles her distancing from Christianity.

Allie Beth Stuckey, a host on Blaze TV, expressed concern over Hatmaker’s new beliefs. “She has opted to worship a personal version of God rather than adhere to biblical teachings. This isn’t true freedom or fulfillment; it leads nowhere good. It seems she has exchanged Christianity for New Age ideologies, which, interestingly, have often been championed by figures like Oprah,” Stuckey commented on her show, “Relatable.”

Hatmaker suggests in her book that our bodies harbor considerable wisdom and emphasizes that women possess knowledge that can guide and even heal the world. She stated, “When my ingrained misogyny prompts me to defend an oppressive system, my body counters that instinct. It knows what’s true—it always does.”

Stuckey challenges the idea that women’s bodies are infallible sources of truth. She notes, “Sometimes, our bodies send signals influenced by factors like hormones, hunger, or sleeplessness. These cues can mislead us.” She goes on to reference the biblical story of Eve, pointing out the serpent’s temptation and how it parallels Hatmaker’s views today.

The conversation deepens as Hatmaker argues we must reject societal narratives that create conflict with our bodies. “If we loathe our appearance or desires, we allow these systems to dominate us,” she writes. “By disliking ourselves, we unwittingly become complicit in perpetuating their agendas.”

While Stuckey acknowledges Hatmaker’s eloquence and catchy phrasing, she ultimately questions the substance behind it all. “That often signifies effective propaganda,” she remarked, highlighting Hatmaker’s past support for transgender issues and the associated challenges faced by youth. “She’s been vocal about protecting transgender children, even while many are suffering harm from medical interventions. It seems there’s a disconnect in her messaging,” Stuckey added.
