According to a Jan. 13 court affidavit and the outlet, Courtemanche, who is also a model, claims she doesn't even have enough money to hire a lawyer, despite living in an upscale neighborhood in Los Angeles. I am doing it.

Las Vegas police said Courtemanche hatched a scheme with his friend Brittany Burgess in December 2020 to steal nearly $500,000 from the former Knights owner.

Three years earlier, police said, Courtemanche texted Burgess expressing his excitement that Maloof was single again.

Courtemanche then texted Burgess to say he was with Maloof at the time of the transaction and was “trying really hard not to laugh,” according to the arrest warrant.

According to the bureau, Courtemanche is suspected of stealing approximately $93,000 in Apple Cash payments that year.

She received another $275,000 the following year and another $75,000 in 2023, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Clark County District Attorney's Office.

Las Vegas detectives uncovered the conspiracy when Malouf complained to police that she had been receiving harassing texts and photos from several Voice Over Internet Protocol numbers. Police then traced the number in question back to his girlfriend.

When Las Vegas and Los Angeles police arrived at Mr. Courtemanche's home in California with search warrants, they asked Mr. Courtemanche if he had any idea why they were there.

Detectives later testified that Courtemanche hid the phone during his stay, the department added.

Burgess also allegedly feigned ignorance when Las Vegas police showed up at her Massachusetts home with local state police in tow and brandishing a search warrant.

“Ms. Burgess was confused and continued to state that she felt 'cheated' by her best friend and did not understand what was going on,” the warrant said.

Police said the scheme netted her about $12,000 and Courtemanche about $433,000.

A grand jury later indicted the two on three felony counts of theft, one felony count of money laundering or attempted money laundering, and several misdemeanor charges, according to the network.

Burgess appeared in court on January 2, but her case is still ongoing.

Courtemanche's next court date is January 21st.
