Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, boasts over 306 million subscribers on YouTube.
Now, with his video empire in jeopardy, as his longtime collaborator and friend Chris Tyson faces charges of sexual solicitation of a minor, many who have followed Tyson’s progress over the past year are not surprised when he announces that he will leave his wife and children in 2023 to pursue a gender transition to female.
It’s not just Tyson’s gender transition and abandonment of his family that have critics alarmed. Some have also been scouring his social media. In 2016, the YouTuber, who now goes by the name “Ava,” posted to X, “Nothing turns me on like a loli.”
Loli is a type of animated pornography in which female characters are depicted as children or babies, but it’s not the only kind: Tyson also proudly showed off an animated piece he commissioned from artist Shadowbase, in which a girl with braces, a flat chest, and a gun in her mouth with her finger on the trigger.
The little girl was wearing a hat that said, “Please be patient with me because I’m autistic.”

Tyson stepped down from his role at Mr Beast following the allegations, made public in a series of YouTube videos by a man known as Prison 42.
The video allegedly shows online conversations between Tyson and minors involving nude photos, inappropriate Snapchat messages and Instagram posts by Tyson and minors who visited Tyson during their college years.
The minor, who was apparently a Mr. Beast fan, was just 13 when the two began communicating; Tyson was 20.
Tyson has also reportedly posted on his Reddit account in 2017, “Why would anyone use a VR headset for anything other than 3D loli gang rape porn?”
“Remember, it’s child pornography,” Stuckey said, before revealing that he’d also posted on Reddit. “But does that still allow for teen romance? A 14 year old is always a 14 year old.”
While there isn’t enough evidence to condemn Tyson as a pedophile, Stuckey believes his actions were clearly inappropriate.
“At the very least, I would say this is a pattern of extremely disturbing behavior,” Stuckey said, adding, “Adults should not be making explicit jokes about minors. It may not have been explicitly sexually exploitative, and she may not have actually sent nude photos. It may not have been a relationship.”
“But it’s not possible for a 20-year-old to be friends with a 14-year-old. It’s weird. That’s weird in itself. It’s weird behavior,” she added.
