Yungblud Honors Ozzy Osbourne at VMAs 2025

At the VMAs 2025 red carpet on Sunday, Yungblud turned heads while shirtless in a leather jacket and low-rise pants. But it was his accessory that really stood out—a gold cross necklace he received from the late Ozzy Osbourne, a legendary figure from Black Sabbath.

Osbourne, who sadly passed away in July at the age of 76, had gifted this necklace to Yungblud while they were filming the music video for Yungblud’s song “The Funeral” back in 2022.

Three years later, Yungblud honored that bond by giving Osbourne a custom cross necklace during the rock star’s final performance of “Crazy Train.” It was a meaningful gesture, reflecting their close friendship that had developed over time.

Following Osbourne’s death, Yungblud shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, mentioning that “Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own.” This sentiment really captures the deep impact Osbourne had on him.

The connection they shared was evident, with Yungblud recalling that during their last meeting, he never imagined that Osbourne, who always filled the room with life and laughter, would be gone so soon. He vowed to keep Osbourne’s spirit alive by changing Black Sabbath every night for the rest of his life.

Despite not being nominated this year, Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, will still take the stage at the USB Arena in New York, joining legendary figures like Aerosmith’s Nuno Bettencourt, Stephen Tyler, and Joe Perry. It’s clear he wants to make this tribute memorable.

When asked about what to expect during the tribute, Yungblud expressed, “Rock and Roll in the King’s Name.” It’ll be intriguing to see how he pays homage to such an influential artist.
