Zac Efron Supports Brother on “Dancing with the Stars”

Zac Efron made a long-awaited appearance on “Dancing with the Stars,” taking the time to cheer for his brother, Dylan Efron, during the semifinals.

The 38-year-old star of ‘High School Musical’ was seen sitting front and center at the show on Tuesday, with his younger sister Olivia, 5, in his lap. Olivia looked adorable in a pink puff-sleeve dress while Zac kept it casual in a dark button-down over a white T-shirt.

Dylan, who’s 33, and his partner, Daniela Karagach, reached their 10th week in the competition. Interestingly, many fans noted it was quite surprising that Zac hadn’t shown up sooner; even Prince William made an appearance before him.

Some fans took to social media, expressing confusion and urging Zac to join the show. There were a series of humorous posts commenting on his delay. But it seems the “traitor” graduates weren’t overly worried about it.

Dylan, in fact, laughed it off when speaking to Extra in October, saying he felt Zac was there to support him every day.

Viewers had anticipated seeing Zac during a special performance last month when Olivia led Dylan’s Dedication Night Performance, which also featured an act from “The Greatest Showman” titled “Rewrite the Stars.”

During the show, Dylan dedicated his performance to Olivia and also paid a heartfelt tribute to Zac. He said in a pre-recorded message, “I never thought I’d get to be a big brother…but right away, I couldn’t leave her.” He added that dancing to “Rewrite the Stars” was a way to honor Zac, who has been a great support in his life.

Fans couldn’t help but become emotional when they saw Zac in the audience with Olivia. One viewer shared their excitement on social media, saying it brought them to tears.

A lot of fans expressed their joy at finally seeing Zac in support of Dylan, who has always been close to his older sibling. One enthusiastic viewer said, “My heart soared when Zac Efron showed up on screen,” while another remarked about the pressure fans placed on him to come out for the show. Yet another said they cried and screamed during the moment when Zac came on stage with Olivia.

Adding a bit of humor to the night, one fan joked about the reunion of Zac Efron and Julianne Hough, referencing their film “Dirty Grandpa.” Julianne, who co-hosts the current season with Alfonso Ribeiro, was spotted with Zac and Olivia during the performance.

Dylan and Zac’s family dynamics have shifted since their parents divorced in 2016. The brothers are now also big brothers to Olivia and their younger sibling, Henry, who is 4 years old.
