In an interview on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy touted his visit to the United States as a success and emphasized the bipartisan nature of the talks.
“I think we saved bipartisan support for Ukraine,” Zelenskiy said in an interview on Fox News Live when asked what his biggest accomplishment was at the end of his trip.
Asked about his meetings with President Biden, Vice President Harris, and former President Trump, President Zelenskiy did not say whether he was convinced that they were close to obtaining permission to use long-range weapons to strike deep into Russia. There wasn't.
However, he emphasized the importance of Ukraine obtaining recognition from the United States and noted the influence the United States has over other countries' policies on this issue.
Zelenskiy said the approval was “very necessary for us.” “We consulted with the French team. We consulted with the British team before the US. And we consulted with the US, which is our biggest supporter and decision-maker.”
