Looking up, devouring in wonder: The Lilid Meteor Shower will decorate the sky this month.
This heavenly shower record dates back 2,700 years. Ancient Chinese citizens may have been talking about Lilid showers when they witnessed the meteor “It falls like rain” Returning to 687 BC.
This cosmic phenomenon is named after the nearby constellation Lyra. It is itself a reference to lyr carried by Orpheus, the long and bloody Littany of Greek mythology, the most tragic widow/bard.
The Lilid Shower consists of fragments of Comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher, named after AE Thatcher, discovered in 1861.
Researchers estimate that it will take about 415 years for a comet to complete its perfect orbit.
In the meantime, the Lyrid Meteor Shower is known as an “explosion” or produces a shocking number of meteors every 60 years. The next Lilid Burst is scheduled for 2042.
2025 isn’t the year of an explosion (at least not literally), but the shower in April will still be the hell of the skyshow.
When will Lyrid Meteor Shower start?
The Lyrid meteor peaked for thousands of years in late April. It starts with a small burst the night before April 16th, with visibility peaking next week.
What is the best time to watch for Lyrid Meteor Shower?
The dazzling display peaks on April 21st and April 22nd, but can be seen until April 29th.
What is a meteor?
Meteors are born from comet particles and asteroid fragments. As this glorious wreck travels around the sun, it leaves a trail behind.
As Earth passes through these trails, dusty parts of space collide with our atmosphere, burning themselves, and their collapse creates a stream of colour and fire in the sky.
Where to see lyrid Meteor Shower / Lyrid Meteor Shower 2025
Skyshows are displayed from most points on the planet.
The Northern Hemisphere residents are given the best views. This year, the glow glow rises before midnight, so the peak vision comes before the fat crescent rises after midnight.
Stargazers aim to find a place away from city lights and streetlights and adjust your eyes to the darkness for about 30 minutes.
How many meteors should I see?
Sometimes Lilid can surprise viewers with up to 100 meteors per hour, but on average, the showers drive out 10-20 meteors per hour.
Meteors are not striped across the sky, but produce occasional bright flashes called fireballs.

Neda FarrDating app resident astrologer Frilltini Founder of astrology app Star CrossLilid Shower says that it will come especially on April 19th and creates favorable conditions for redefine desires, as the sun moves into the Taurus of Tactile and amplifies the need for physical intimacy.
“In short, be prepared for the above fireworks, as the planetary lineup will cause emotionally charged, fast burning connections,” warns Far.
She points out that some zodiac signs will feel more burned than other constellations.
Water Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Far tells the Post that water signs are activated by the movement of Mars due to cancer, and by amplifying both emotional and sexual energy.
“Cancer becomes more protective as you seek a sense of security – adjacent to possession. Meanwhile, Scorpio and Pisces were able to find themselves in a romantic awakening. As for these signs, it is essential to embrace the moment and be honest about your needs and desires.”
She points out that under the striped sky of a lyrid shower, water signs should explore the naked intimacy born from true vulnerability.
“A powerful wave of passion clashes with increased sensitivity to rejection and distance. But trust your intuition, lower your guards and tell your truth.
Gemini and Sagittarius
Because of this variable axis, Fur predicts hot burning and quick whimsical romance.

Signs of the Earth: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Farr predicts that the Earth’s signs for security could be shaken by the bright and destructive effects of Lilid Showers.
“A sudden, clear flash of light may shake the foundations of your stable but stagnant relationship. While the Taurus Sun supports your practical approach to love, Lilid stirs up the pot and encourages you to reevaluate everything you have built,” she says.
“Is your relationship solid or are you settling on stability? The planet’s message to the signs of the Earth is clear. Don’t resist unexpectedly. Explore it.”
