NYC man charged with punching women, hate crimes

A man accused of a series of “misogynistic, anti-white and anti-Semitic incidents” and assaults on strangers in New York City was indicted on hate crimes charges on Tuesday.

Suspected serial beater Skibokie Stora appeared in a Manhattan courtroom.

“Skibokie Stora allegedly committed a series of hate-motivated incidents against multiple individuals because of their gender, race and religion,” Manhattan District Attorney Bragg said in a statement announcing the charges. “Much of what defines our city is our respect and inclusion of all people. No one should have to fear for their safety because of their identity. I thank our prosecutors for their unwavering commitment to seeking justice for the victims.”

Earlier, Judge Bragg announced that Stora, 40, of Brooklyn, was indicted on charges of assault, stalking and harassment of a stranger between September 2023 and March 2023. The formal charges include three counts of third-degree assault as a hate crime, three counts of third-degree stalking as a hate crime and second-degree aggravated harassment.

Prosecutors said the most recent attack occurred on March 25, when a 23-year-old woman in the Chelsea neighborhood was attacked. The incident gained widespread attention after the victim posted a video of the attack on TikTok that has been viewed millions of times, and several others have described similar attacks in social media posts.

Influencer Harry McGookin, better known as “Harry Kate”, made a tearful video recounting the attack.

Bragg said she was walking next to Stora when he struck her in the head, causing her to fall to the ground.

On November 18, 2023, a 28-year-old Jewish couple was walking their dog in Union Square when the woman witnessed Mr. Stora tearing up a poster of Israeli hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza.

When Stora noticed them staring at him, he allegedly ran after them, yelling “anti-white and anti-Semitic remarks” including “Fuck you, white faggot” before a good Samaritan let the couple into his apartment.

Stred allegedly chased them into the lobby, telling them, “Die, Jew, die!”

On Oct. 26, 2023, Stora allegedly used his elbow to strike a “light-skinned” woman in the left shoulder as she was passing by, causing pain and bruising, Bragg said.

The first incident involving Stora occurred on Sept. 20, 2023, when the suspect allegedly struck a 17-year-old white student in the neck with his elbow.

“It seems like you guys think you can do whatever you want,” the man told the victim, according to prosecutors.
