Congressional leaders agreed to a deal to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the remainder of this year. It may sound like a small thing, but the previous obstacles add up to a pretty big development.
what I thought would happen:Congress has until Friday to fund the remaining six branches of government. Lawmakers agreed to deals on five of those six components, but could not agree on DHS funding. This is because immigration is a hot topic among partisans. Until Monday night’s agreement, Congress was expected to pass five bills. And to avoid a shutdown, lawmakers could pass an extension on the 6th.
what possibility happen it happens now: Congress could pass all six bills. But it would be a “very” tight timeline to pass these bills by Friday. Yes, an agreement has been reached, but negotiators are still working on the document. 😅 Once the document is complete, House Republicans have said they want at least 72 hours to consider it. And the Senate process could take several days.
read more: “Lawmakers are running out of time to prevent a partial shutdown.”
When legislators fail to pass a bill by the deadline: The Washington Post has helpful commentators About what this weekend’s partial government shutdown will look like.
hold up: Democrats wanted more funding for the Transportation Security Administration. Republicans wanted more funding for immigration enforcement and detention.
break: Funding the government means passing 12 funding bills. These are collectively called an omnibus.
-
March 8th: Lawmakers passed the bill to provide funding to the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Interior, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Justice, Commerce and Energy.
-
What’s left? : funding for DHS, Department of Defense, Department of State, Department of Labor, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Education, and other priorities. Congress must pass these bills by March 22 or a partial government shutdown will occur.

➤ President Trump’s statement:
|
President Trump has criticized the bonds as “unconstitutional” and “un-American.”
He posted on Truth Social: “A bond of this magnitude set by a Democratic club-controlled judge in the illegal witch hunt of corrupt racist Letitia James is unconstitutional, un-American, and unprecedented. and is virtually impossible for any company, including a successful company like mine. Bonding companies have never heard of bonds of this size…” Read President Trump’s full post
and playing cards I said it later You’ll have to do a “fire sale” to get cash.: “I would be forced to mortgage or sell my great assets, probably at a fire sale price, and if I win the appeal, they would be let go. Does that make sense? Witch Hunting. Election interference!” Read the full post

“The Supreme Court unanimously ruled Tuesday that a man’s challenge to his previous no-fly list can move forward, finding that the government had not shown his case was invalid.”・Hills reported Zach Schoenfeld.
back story:”Jonas Fikre, a U.S. citizen who previously resided in Sudan, sued the FBI, claiming his inclusion on the list was illegal. The government has since removed him from the list, indicating that he is unlikely to be re-registered. It argued that as a result, Mr. Fikre’s lawsuit was invalid and should be thrown out. ” (the hill)

former president trump He’s suing ABC News and its anchors. george stephanopoulos He talked about interviews with members of Congress. Nancy Mace (RS.C.), a rape victim who supported Trump.
why?: Stephanopoulos asked why he supports Trump, referring to the recent ruling against him in an advice columnist. E. Jean Carrollsexual assault and defamation lawsuit. Mace accused Stephanopoulos of trying to “embarrass” him. Trump said Stephanopoulos was found “responsible for rape” when the jury found him responsible for sexual abuse, not rape.

president biden Georgia changed from red to blue in 2020 for the first time in decades. In fact, Georgia played a pivotal role in the incumbent’s presidential victory.
Now, The Hills Julia Muller Biden faces several worrying signs this year, including low turnout in the Georgia primary and a lack of other state races that could energize voters, according to reports. .
read more: What will happen to this in November?
💡Why I said this is more important than any national poll: Biden’s approval ratings have been low for quite some time. And in many national opinion polls, president trump Tie or lead. But polls in key battleground states are far more important than any national poll. Elections are not decided by popular vote. You win by winning delegates in each state.

📈 Imagine the soaring prices of food during peak hours: Vox Withy Kim I’ve written about how Uber’s style of pricing based on supply and demand is expanding to other industries. Wendy’s recently came under fire for adjusting prices based on demand. (To be clear, Wendy’s has made it clear that while they may lower prices, they will never raise them.) “We’re going to see Uber-style pricing for everything.”
