formerPresident TrumpThe problem for women voters is growing and is beginning to alarm Republicans.
Why?A recent ABC News/Ipsos poll found that Harris has significantly increased her lead among women over Trump, leading the former president 54 percent to 41 percent. 🚨Before last month's Democratic National Convention, Harris had just a six-point lead among them.
What about men?: Hills Alexander BoltonThey point out that Trump's lead among men is significantly smaller than Harris' lead in November.
Trump knows this: he Acknowledged At a recent rally, he spoke about his issues with female voters. “Someone said, 'Women don't like Donald Trump,'” he said. “I said, 'I think that's wrong. I think women love me.' And I love women.”
😅 I probably wouldn't say this.“They're so wealthy. Look at them,” Trump said, pointing to a group of women who showed up to his rally. “Their husbands are great, but they allow them to travel all over the country.” Watch the clip (per 21 minutes)
^ Trump said he was referring to a group of women from North Carolina who have attended more than 200 of his rallies.
This extends to the Houses of Parliament too. The two most prominent Republican women in the Senate. Suzanne Collins (Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) They say they won't vote for Trump.
💡 Why this is important:The gender gap between the political parties is nothing new, but it's becoming more pronounced. Suburban female voters are a key demographic for winning the November election, especially in battleground states. This demographic could decide the outcome of the election.

How can Trump attract more female voters?

Even as President Trump boasts about ending Roe v. Wade, he has sought ways to soften his stance on abortion.
Why?Trump recently argued that Florida's six-week abortion ban is too strict and offered to pay for IVF treatments if elected, and urged Republicans to make softening their stance on abortion a priority in order to win the election.
That's dangerous territory.He faced a *tremendous* backlash last week from anti-abortion activists, a key part of the base that helped him win the 2016 presidential election.
Anti-abortion activists are unlikely to vote Democrat, so what are the risks?This group has always been at odds with Trump, but their patience may be wearing thin as he risks angering social conservatives and lowering their voter turnout.
