129K Migrants Apprehended at Southwest Border in April — Down Slightly from March

Border Patrol apprehended approximately 129,000 immigrants who illegally crossed the southwest border between ports of entry in April. This is a slight decrease from the more than 137,000 people arrested in March.

Border Patrol agents assigned to nine Southwest border locations apprehended nearly 129,000 migrants during April, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas. This brings the total number of annual immigrants to approximately 1.2 million for the 24th fiscal year starting October 1, 2023.

Although the number of arrests decreased significantly in April, the annual total still continues to outpace last year’s total of 2,046,000 immigrants. This is the third year in a row under the Biden administration that more than 2 million immigrants have been apprehended annually.

By contrast, Border Patrol agents apprehended just 400,651 people during fiscal year 2020, President Donald Trump’s final year in office.

The San Diego area topped the list in April with more than 37,000 migrants of concern, according to an unofficial report. Following this, the Tucson area reported the arrest of more than 31,000 immigrants.

Agents in the El Paso area also arrested more than 30,000 immigrants in April, but arrests in Del Rio dropped to just over 10,000.

Migrants in the Swanton area continue to experience record-breaking fears along the Canada-U.S. border. Agents in the Swanton District, which covers eastern New York, Vermont and New Hampshire, arrested nearly 1,500 immigrants in April, more than double the number of just 676 immigrants in April 2023. became.
