Brawls Erupt at Wisconsin Mall During Teen “Takeover” Event

Over the weekend, more than a dozen teenagers were taken into custody after a series of fights broke out outside Bayshore Mall in Glendale, Wisconsin. This incident seemed to coincide with a social media-driven “takeover” event that attracted a large crowd.

Authorities were already on high alert due to rumors of potential chaos, and they had increased police presence in coordination with mall management. However, despite these precautions, hundreds of teens showed up on Sunday afternoon, leading to multiple altercations throughout the area.

“We’re just trying to help with prevention,” community leader Vaun Mays explained. He mentioned online discussions about similar events not just at Bayshore but also other locations. “We want to assist security, police, and businesses in minimizing risks,” he added.

Footage from the scene illustrated just how chaotic things had become. One video captured a brawl outside a Kohl’s department store, with bystanders visibly shocked as teenagers shoved each other, resulting in one person being thrown through the store’s entrance.

In another clip, hooded figures could be seen running through the mall, engaging in fights and fleeing from the police as order was being restored. Ultimately, law enforcement reported that 13 individuals were arrested on various charges, including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

“We need a more structured approach to fully address these issues,” Mays suggested, calling for better programming and corporate involvement. “There’s got to be a way to provide support,” he concluded.

Bayshore Mall had reminded the public about its parental guidance policy, which stipulates that minors under 17 must be accompanied by an adult after 3 p.m. on weekends. This recent outbreak of violence follows a disturbing trend of “takeover” events being promoted on social media, where young people gather without notifying local authorities.

As of yet, the Glendale Police Department has not responded to requests for further comments about the incident.
