Tragic Accident Claims Life of Anthony Zecca
The family of Dog the Bounty Hunter is facing an unimaginable tragedy following the accidental shooting death of his step-grandson, Anthony Zecca, by his father, Gregory Zecca.
This incident, described as an “unusual accident,” occurred on Saturday night in an apartment in Naples, Florida. According to reports, Gregory, who is the son of Dog’s wife, Franci Frene, accidentally shot her 13-year-old son. The news was first shared by TMZ.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies were called to the scene at 8:08 PM, responding to a report of the shooting. They stated that one person was deceased and assured that it was an isolated incident. As of now, though an active investigation is ongoing, no arrests have been made.
Duane Chapman, known as Dog, and Franci shared their grief in a statement, expressing their heartbreak over “this mysterious and tragic accident” and urging for continued prayers as they mourn their beloved grandson, Anthony.
The dog, who has 13 children from previous relationships, married Franci, a Colorado rancher, in September 2021, about ten months after his previous wife Beth passed away from throat cancer.
In their statement, Duane and Franci reflected on their shared experience with loss, having both faced the deaths of spouses to cancer. Franci spoke about how they supported each other, saying, “We were able to cry with each other and talk about what we were feeling.” This bond through grief was highlighted as a significant part of their relationship.
Francie previously indicated that she had two sons who were hunters, mentioning their shared love for the outdoors. Duane expressed admiration for Franci’s involvement in hunting, noting how well they paired on their adventures.
