Santa Ana High School Stabbing Incident

Two teens, aged 15 and 17, turned themselves in to police following a fatal stabbing just outside Santa Ana High School in Southern California. This occurred on Wednesday afternoon, as reported by KTLA-TV.

By Thursday morning, both teens were still in custody. Reports suggest they were with their parents when they arrived at the police station.

Authorities have not confirmed any arrests yet.

The stabbing incident took place near the school entrance around 3:25 PM, prompting a swift police response. Initial reports indicate that the attackers fled the scene, leading to a police search.

A 14-year-old male student, whose identity has not yet been released, was critically injured and later died at the hospital. He was a freshman at Santa Ana, described by friends as “kind and funny.”

Diana Vazquez, a parent of a friend of the victim, shared her daughter’s emotional response. “She came home in tears, unable to believe it. He was really a nice kid,” she said.

Two other victims, aged 15 and 17, sustained upper torso injuries but are expected to recover and are in stable condition.

Authorities indicated that the suspect may have gang affiliations, and the deceased, along with the surviving victims, were also linked to gang activity, according to KTLA.

The Santa Ana Unified School District announced plans to enhance police presence at the school the following day. In a statement, they expressed their commitment to fostering a safe environment for all students and staff while appreciating community support during this difficult time.
