Police say a 16-year-old boy broke into a Florida home and stabbed to death a 15-year-old boy who was at a sleepover with friends.
According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Alexander Hernandez walked about six miles to the victim’s Wildwood home Saturday night, then showed up unannounced and “banged” on the front door around 10 p.m.
When the 15-year-old victim, Connor Michael Gill, opened the door, Hernandez allegedly walked inside and stabbed Gill.
A 48-year-old adult who was inside the home ran over to see what was going on and was also stabbed. Police say Hernandez then threatened the third victim before fleeing on foot.
“This was certainly a planned, targeted attack,” Deputy Sheriff Pat Breeden said. Said.
Both victims were airlifted to a nearby hospital. Gill was pronounced dead at about 1:20 p.m., and the unidentified adult was in intensive care in stable condition, Breeden said.
Hernandez was later located by a police helicopter and taken into custody. He was in possession of two weapons when police arrested him.

The boy told detectives he ordered two weapons over the internet last Thursday. The weapons arrived on Saturday and the boy played with them for a while before going to the victim’s home.
Hernandez is charged with premeditated first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and armed robbery.
The motive for the stabbing remains unclear.
Police said the two boys were homeschooled and it was unclear how they met.
