A father of two children missing for more than five years has been named a suspect in the double murder, according to Pueblo police.
Police confirmed in a statement Saturday that Jesus Dominguez, 35, was arrested in connection with the murders of Yesenia Dominguez and Jesus Dominguez Jr.
Pueblo police began an investigation in January after a child’s body was found encased in concrete in a storage facility and inside a suitcase in the trunk of an abandoned car.
Police said Jesus Dominguez and Corena Rose Minjarez, 36, were questioned as persons of interest in late January after Dominguez was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On February 15, police underwent DNA testing and determined that the body found inside the metal container was that of Yesenia Dominguez, and the body found inside the suitcase was that of Jesus Dominguez Jr. It turned out to be.
Police said no missing persons report was filed for Yesenia Dominguez and Jesus Dominguez Jr., and authorities did not realize the children were missing until January 20, 2024.
Investigators said Yesenia Dominguez was about 3 years old when she was last seen and would now be 9 years old. Jesus Dominguez was about 5 years old when last seen, and was probably around 10 years old.

Arrest warrants were issued for Minjarez and Dominguez on two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of abuse of a corpse.
Minjarez was arrested shortly after the warrant was issued on Thursday and is being held in the Pueblo County Jail on $2 million bail.

Dominguez was located with the help of the community and arrested on Saturday. He is being held in the Pueblo County Detention Center on $2 million bail, police said.
