2 dead after search for Sasquatch in Washington national forest

Two Portland men died during Christmas week while searching for a Sasquatch, officials said.

According to the Skamania County Sheriff's Office (SCSO), around 1 a.m. on Christmas Day, the Skamania County Communications Center conducted a search for Sasquatch, who was scheduled to return home on Dec. 24 but was reported missing. A report was received from the person's family. ).

SCSO says a “swarm camera,” also known as a license plate reader, located the man's vehicle off Oklahoma Road near Willard, Washington.

For three days, search and rescue teams, including more than 60 volunteers, dogs, drones, ground search teams and U.S. Coast Guard aviation, searched for the men.

“After a grueling three-day search in difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions, a 59-year-old man and a 37-year-old man from Portland, Oregon, who had been reported as missing/endangered, have been located and deceased. in a wooded area of ​​the Gifford Pinchot National Forest,” the sheriff's office said on Facebook.

SCSO added: “Both deaths appear to have been caused by radiation exposure, given the weather conditions and lack of preparation.”
