Two people were killed in a car crash with a Washington State Patrol trooper just west of Seattle, authorities said Saturday evening. The officer was not seriously injured in Saturday’s crash, but was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The Mason County Coroner on Sunday identified the two people who died as Charles Ferry, 72, and Deoria Blandford, 49, both of Washington.

The officer, who has not been identified, was driving on Route 101 with his emergency lights and siren on when he T-boned the Toyota Prius at an intersection, said Lt. Matt Colbenson, a spokesman for the Mason County Sheriff’s Office. It is said that

The Washington State Patrol issued a brief statement about the incident Saturday, but declined to comment, citing the agency’s own involvement in the incident.
The Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
