2 hikers in Yosemite National Park reported missing

A search is underway in Yosemite National Park in California after two hikers failed to return to their campsite on Saturday, authorities said.

The two hikers, identified as Miguel Delgado, 63, and Ana Rodarte, 40, were last seen leaving Bridal Veil Creek Campground around 10 a.m., the National Park Service (NPS) said in a statement Sunday.

Authorities said they were believed to have been on a day hike to Lake Ostrander and were expected to return within a few hours, but as of Monday morning the hikers had not returned.

Fox Digital reached out to the National Park Service for additional information about the search for the hiker and his likely route, but did not immediately receive a response.

Rangers said Delgado is a Hispanic man, approximately 6-foot-1, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a brown jacket with blue accents, an orange T-shirt, brown pants and a backpack.

According to the Rangers, Rodarte is a Hispanic woman, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 198 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, and was last seen wearing a gray windbreaker jacket, green pants or jeans and a blue baseball cap.

Bridalveil Creek Campground sits at an elevation of 24,000 feet and is surrounded by a forest of red fir and lodgepole pine, according to the National Park Service website. Numerous hiking trails are located along nearby Glacier Point Road, although the website warns that no services are available in the area.
