2 teens killed, 3 injured in early morning crash on Long Island, NY parkway

Two Long Island teenagers were killed in a horrific crash early Thursday morning on the Southern State Parkway in Islip, police said.

According to authorities, officers responding to a 911 call about a vehicle overturned found a wrecked 2010 Toyota Prius overturned on the shoulder of the road near Exit 43A around 2 a.m.

Police say two juveniles, the driver, Oliver Charles, 18, of Deer Park, and passenger, Dimond Sanders, 17, of West Babylon, died at the scene.

The three other passengers in the Prius suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by emergency personnel to local hospitals.

The cause of the crash is unknown.

New York State Police said they are investigating the cause.
