20-Year-Old Identified As Shooter In Trump Assassination Attempt

The FBI has identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the man who plotted to assassinate former President Donald Trump.

Crooks fired at Trump from a rooftop about 130 yards away, striking him above the right ear as he addressed a crowd ahead of next week’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Crooks was shot and killed, and one attendee was killed in the incident, while two other attendees were wounded, according to the station. The identities of the victims remain unknown.

“The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as a suspect in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13,” the FBI said in a statement. Fox News Digital“This is an active and ongoing investigation.”

In 2022, Crooks received her diploma from Bethel Park High School and was one of the students to receive the school’s $500 National Math and Science Initiative “STAR Award.”

according to Fox News DigitalCrooks would have turned 21 in September. He had no bankruptcies, liens or foreclosures listed, and no reported criminal or traffic violations.

Voting records show Crooks was a registered Republican, but because of his age he only participated in the Nov. 8 state election.Number2022.

The FBI said it continues to investigate Crooks and any other information available to it.

“This incident remains an active investigation and anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to submit photos or videos online at FBI.gov/butler or call 1-800-CALL-FBI,” the statement continued.

He reportedly donated $15 to the Progressive Turnout Project, a Chicago-based political action committee that supports Democratic candidates running for public office.
