Whoopi Goldberg told her co-hosts on ABC's “The View” Monday that President-elect Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 election was about race and misogyny.
Goldberg said, “As I always say, this process was handled without me, because what I was looking for, and I hear people making fun of it, is It's not about race. It's not about misogyny. It's about me. Because that's how you see me in the first place. So I have to answer this to you: I don't think this is what you're saying. Because I know they always want us to say, “Oh, she was mean.'' ”
Furthermore, she added: I understand all the things he promised he would be and what he wasn't and now he's been given carte blanche. I'm not going to waste a lot of time thinking about what he does. I'm going to wait because I need to see what he does to know what I'll do. ”
Co-host Alyssa Farrar Griffin said, “We can sit here and think apocalypically about what he's going to do, but I think there's also time for some introspection. I felt like I wasn't represented by Biden when I said, 'Why did I wait three years to do that?'
Goldberg said, “We've done it all and we're just talking about how this respect transfers to you and how it transfers to me as well.” We're looking at different things. You're hearing different things than I'm hearing because you're not hearing the same things. We're not, and that's okay. ”
