2025 NFL Schedule Release: Christmas games feature Lions, Chiefs, and Cowboys

NFL Confirms Christmas Tripleheader for 2025

As the full schedule for the 2025 NFL season is set to drop, three games have been confirmed for Christmas Day. Earlier this week, the league unveiled the Christmas Night Game, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against Bo Nix and the host Denver Broncos. This match will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video, kicking off at 8:15 PM Eastern.

Two additional games are also scheduled, both of which will be available on Netflix. The first match showcases an iconic NFC East rivalry, with the Dallas Cowboys going up against the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium, starting at 1 PM Eastern.

Later in the day, another key NFC North rivalry will unfold as the Minnesota Vikings host the Detroit Lions, with a kickoff at 4:30 PM Eastern.

This arrangement also means that the Lions, Chiefs, and Cowboys will participate in both Thanksgiving and Christmas games. Earlier announcements indicated that the Cowboys will host the Chiefs at 4:30 PM on Thanksgiving Day, a game that will be broadcast on CBS.

As for the Lions, their Thanksgiving Day opponent is still to be revealed, but they have a long-standing tradition of playing on the holiday, a custom dating back to 1934.
