The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo during the first week of the upcoming season. This marks the NFL’s second consecutive year hosting a game in South America.
Travis Kelce hinted at this matchup on his podcast, revealing that he’s not exactly thrilled about it.
He joked, “Yeah, we definitely play in Brazil,” while expressing some concerns about the heat.
Kelce shared how he doesn’t relish the idea of playing in high temperatures, recalling his experience in Jacksonville last September, which he found quite uncomfortable. “There’s something about getting closer to the equator,” he mentioned, clearly not keen on the thought of playing in such conditions.
When discussing São Paulo’s climate, he noted that being more inland might still pose challenges, especially if the humidity levels are high. He even pondered, “If it’s hot and humid, I’d be miserable, but we’re going to find a way to win.”
Despite finishing the last season with an impressive 15-2 record and making it to the Super Bowl for a third consecutive year, the Chiefs were ultimately bested by the Eagles.
