23-year-old K-pop star Karina has apologized to her devoted fans who accused her of “betrayal” after announcing that she was in a relationship with her boyfriend.
Following the revelation that Kareena was dating actor Lee Jae Wook, some furious fans drove a truck loaded with electronic signboards to Karina’s agency, SM Entertainment, and attacked a woman from outside the building. It is reported that a message was broadcast to
“Don’t you have enough love from your fans? Why did you choose to betray your fans? Please apologize in person. Otherwise, your album sales will decrease and the seats at your concerts will be empty.” one of the threatening messages read.
Karina, the frontwoman of the four-member member of the hugely popular girl group Aespa, posted on Instagram on Wednesday, promising to “heal the wounds” caused by her love life. BBC reported.

Karina (real name Yoo Jimin) has exploded in popularity since Aespa debuted with her single “Black Mama” in 2020. Last year, their album “My World” sold more than 2.1 million copies, breaking South Korea’s record, according to the BBC.
Trucks like the one that visited Karina’s office have reportedly recently become common for K-pop fans to use to express their anger.
However, some fans have expressed their support for the singer on similar electronic message boards.

Karina and Lee, 25,’s relationship was revealed on February 27, with the pair admitting they first met last year.
Lee’s agency, C-JeS Studio, asked for “warm respect as this relates to his personal life.”
According to the BBC, over the past decade it has been common for K-pop agencies to ban new stars from dating or having personal cellphones. It was considered taboo to publicly reveal their romantic relationship.
Last year, Jisoo, the lead singer of K-pop group BLACKPINK, scandalously admitted that she was dating actor Ahn Bo-hyun, causing a stir in the K-pop world.
At the time, experts told the BBC that the pop star’s agency was taking such actions to present the pop star as a “romantically available” idol.
Karina made her screen debut in the hit drama series ‘Memories of the Alhambra’ in 2018 and gained even more fans after appearing in the drama ‘Alchemy of Souls’.
