24-year-old undocumented immigrant taken into custody for impersonating a teenager to join high school

Illegal Alien Poses as High School Student in Ohio

A 24-year-old man was apprehended after pretending to be a 16-year-old student to enroll in an Ohio high school, as confirmed by local authorities and Homeland Security.

The individual, identified as Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra from Venezuela, had registered at a public high school in Perrysburg, located about two hours northwest of Columbus. Authorities reported that he used forged documents to gain admission, resulting in charges of forgery.

Labrador Sierra was not just a student; he’s also a father, though details about his child’s age remain unclear. He claimed to have been smuggled from Venezuela and successfully enrolled by presenting what he asserted was a legitimate Venezuelan birth certificate in January 2024.

While at the school, he became engaged with various activities, including playing soccer and being part of the swim team. In March 2024, he moved in with a local family noted for hosting children and foreign exchange students. This family obtained permanent guardianship over him and helped with administrative tasks such as securing a Social Security number and an Ohio driver’s license.

However, confusion arose when Evelyn Camacho, a woman claiming to be the mother of his child, revealed that he was actually 24 years old. She sent evidence, including a photo of his driver’s license showing a birth date of March 27, 2001, to the family with whom he was living.

Upon learning this, the family alerted school officials, who then convened a meeting with district administrators. During this meeting, Labrador Sierra reportedly refuted claims regarding his age. Following the investigation, school officials instructed parents to ensure he left school grounds as law enforcement looked into the matter.

Ultimately, he was arrested during a traffic stop on May 14. The situation raises numerous questions about identity verification processes within schools and the implications of fake documentation.
