Ohio High School Incident Involving Venezuelan Immigrant
A 24-year-old Venezuelan immigrant, who is alleged to have posed as a homeless teenager, has reportedly registered at a high school in Ohio.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio revealed that Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra admitted to unlawful possession of a firearm as a non-citizen, alongside allegations of submitting false documents while acquiring the gun. He provided incorrect birth dates in applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for temporary protective status and employment authorization paperwork.
Labrador Sierra was apprehended in May 2025 for identity fraud, as noted in a police report. It appears he had been overstaying an expired work visa and registered at the school for over a year before his real identity was uncovered.
Police reported that he approached the Perrysburg school in November 2023, claiming to be a victim of human trafficking and seeking enrollment. He had prepared a birth certificate stating his date of birth as December 2, 2007, indicating he needed this document to enroll in school.
He allegedly used forged documents to acquire legal guardianship, a Social Security number, and an Ohio driver’s license. Concerns about his identity surfaced when a woman contacted the family of the guardian and falsely claimed to be the father of her child, leading to further scrutiny by school officials and authorities.
The Perrysburg school district issued a letter expressing outrage over the situation, stating they share the community’s frustration regarding the alleged misrepresentation and exploitation of vulnerable individuals.
Labrador Sierra was noted to have participated in the school’s Junior Varsity Soccer and swimming teams. Prosecutors indicated he crossed the border in 2019 and possessed a 9mm semi-automatic pistol while in the U.S.
Facing multiple charges, Labrador Sierra could face up to 30 years in prison. He is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing on January 23, 2026.
