3 American women found dead at Belize resort with booze and gummies

Three American women were found dead at a beach resort in Belize. Officers are looking at possible drug overdose after finding “alcohol and some gummies” in the room.

Kaoutar Naqqad, 23, Imane Mallah, 24, and Wafae El-Arar, 26, were all found from Libya, Massachusetts, at Royal Cahal Beach Resort in San Pedro on Saturday, police said.

Residential staff tried to contact the woman several times on Friday after surveillance footage showed she had entered the room the night before and had not returned, police said. When they had not received a response by Saturday, the hotel staff entered the room and found out that the woman was not responding.

The cause of their deaths has not been confirmed, but the first responder said he discovered that the foamy woman had foam in her mouth, suggesting a possible drug overdose I did.

Each woman's online fundraiser had raised more than $25,000 by Tuesday morning to bring her body back to the US and cover the funeral.
