Police announced Tuesday that they have arrested three people in connection with the death of a man on a New York City subway train last week.
William Alvarez, 45, of the Bronx, was shot and killed during an altercation with one of the suspects on the D train in the Bronx around 5 a.m. Friday.
Police said what happened was captured on surveillance video from the train, subway station and on the street.

The three are charged with murder and weapons possession. They were found Monday in a Bronx apartment by members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The shooting was the third homicide on the subway this year. The incident comes on the heels of a mass shooting at another Bronx subway station earlier this month that left a 35-year-old man dead and five others injured.

WABC-TV reports that traffic crimes are up 13% compared to this time last year.
