3 people dead, including gunman, after shooting at law office

A gunman opened fire at a law office near Las Vegas on Monday morning, killing two people, according to reports.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting at a business in the Summerlin area, about 25 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip, just after 10 a.m. local time.

The suspect allegedly killed two people inside the offices of Prince Law Group and then shot himself during a deposition. A law enforcement source told local media outlet KTNV.

Police blocked off traffic in the area while responding to a shooting at the corner of Charleston Boulevard and Pavilion Center Drive.

“This is a dynamic event and multiple LVMPD emergency vehicles are responding.” police said on social media. “Please avoid that area.”

Nearby schools were placed on a short-term soft lockdown, which was later lifted. FOX5 reported.

Nearby businesses, including City National Bank and Lifetime Gym, were not on lockdown.

Officials told FOX 5 there is “no ongoing threat” to the community.

Police are investigating the incident.
