Incident at Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk

A 33-year-old woman from Canada, Caitlin E. Tracy, has been accused of assaulting a teenage girl who was wearing pro-Trump attire on a boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, earlier this month. Currently, Tracy is in custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

On July 3, Tracy filmed herself as she approached the teenage boy and his friend. According to court documents cited by a local news source, the boy’s sweatpants bore the words “Trump” and “ICE.” It’s reported that Tracy, dressed in patriotic-themed sweatpants, started yelling political expressions at the boy.

Witnesses noted that Tracy was later seen on video hitting the teenage girl twice—once in the body and once in the face. She subsequently left the scene, evading immediate identification by law enforcement.

Following an investigation, police identified Tracy as the suspect on July 6. She now faces charges of simple assault, harassment, and possibly obstructing the welfare of a minor. Tracy was taken into custody without incident and has since been processed in Ocean County Jail.

Tracy is reportedly a Canadian citizen who entered the U.S. on a passport in 2024. A man claiming to be her husband mentioned that she would be handed over to ICE.

ICE records confirmed that Tracy is currently being housed at the Delaney Hall Detention Center located in Newark, New Jersey.

Tracy has a court appearance scheduled for August 4. In a video shared on TikTok, her husband expressed distress, stating, “I need help… I need my wife. I don’t want her to get hurt.”

While a local publication noted that the husband has been vocal about Tracy’s situation, he chose not to comment on the alleged assault. Instead, he argued that the context of the events had been misrepresented.

He tried to create a crowdfunding page to support her legal fees, but it was reported that he had to take it down due to backlash from a specific social media group. The husband frequently shares videos online, often aiming at mocking opposing political views.

On a separate note, it has been clarified that the alleged victim was not injured during the incident, and details surrounding their age have been kept confidential in court documents.

Authorities expressed gratitude to multiple police and intelligence agencies for their assistance in handling this investigation.
