The San Francisco 49ers won the Lombardi Trophy on January 29, 1995, becoming the first team to win the Super Bowl five times.
Since then, 14 teams have won the Super Bowl, but the Niners are not one of them.
San Fran took a three-point lead with less than two minutes left Sunday night and was just minutes away from winning Super Bowl III.

However, the Kansas City Chiefs marched down the field with three seconds left to tie the game.
The Niners made a field goal on their first possession of the period to take the lead into overtime, and with four outs and 1st base, they needed a stop, but Patrick Mahomes got a first down, then a few more downs, and eventually He won the match by defeating Mecole Hardman. -The winning touchdown.
But head coach Kyle Shanahan’s cursed drought continues.
This is the third time Shanahan has coached a team that led by double digits in the Super Bowl, but is still 0-3 in the big games.
Shanahan, of course, was the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons when they blew a 28-3 lead against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI.

Patrick Mahomes named Super Bowl MVP for third time, joins elite company
Four years ago, the Niners led by 10 points in the fourth quarter against the same Chiefs, but Kansas City won 31-20 in Super Bowl XIV.
“I don’t have the right words right now,” Shanahan said after the game. “It hurts, everyone understands that. I knew it was going to hurt when this happened, but I was just proud of our players.
“They put themselves out there, worked their tails off, and went through a lot. That’s what we have to endure, but we know it’s something we can deal with. We’re all pretty disappointed right now. But if you’re going to lose to anybody, you want to lose to those guys.”
