Her husband John Dick went missing in his 1946 year, and his body was subsequently found scattered in various locations around Hamilton, Ontario. Evelyn was arrested and she was accused of being involved in his murder, which led to a series of shocking revelations about her life.

The case revealed scandals including infidelity, prostitution, and a troubled personal life. Evelyn Dick's trial attracted public attention due to its sensational elements and the graphic nature of the crime. She became known as the “Torso Murderer” because she dismembered her husband's body.

3. Scott Peterson

Peterson's original death sentence was overturned in 2020. The California Supreme Court ruled that there were errors in the jury selection process, and the death penalty was waived. 4. Mary Elizabeth Wilson

Also known as the “Merry Widow of Windy Nook,” she lost multiple husbands in a short period of time. Suspicion arose because each time she died she inherited their property. When her body was exhumed, traces of pesticide were found, leading to her arrest. Initially she was sentenced to death, but later her sentence was commuted to life imprisonment and she died in prison.

5. George Joseph Smith

George Joseph Smith was a notorious British serial killer who was notorious for murdering multiple women after they were married. He was born in 1872 and gained notoriety for his crimes in the early 20th century.

Mr. Smith's method was to marry a woman and then take out life insurance on her. He then killed his wives by drowning them in a bathtub, making it look like an accident. He used various pseudonyms and moved frequently to avoid suspicion.
