Reports say at least five passengers were injured on a Houston-bound United Airlines flight on Sunday night, as the plane was rushed into severe turbulence.
The plane carrying 29 passengers and three crew members took off from Springfield, Missouri, but attacked the obstacle and was converted to Waco Regional Airport around 6:30pm. He told Springfield newsreader.
The five injured passengers were taken to a nearby hospital due to non-life-threatening injuries, the newspaper reported.
Skywest, which operated the flight, said the plane had safely landed after hitting turbulence.
“Skywest and United are working to ensure that the injured customers are in the care they need and line up new transportation options for everyone on this flight.” He said in a statement to KXXV.
Both are run by American Airlines, and two other flights heading to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport have also been converted to Waco Airport due to rocky conditions, said Airlines' interim airport director Michael Raysman.

United Airlines' planes are expected I'll stay at Waco at least the next day So the mechanic can inspect it before it gets empty again, he said.
The rough travel conditions occur during several horrifying and fatal plane crashes, including an air disaster on the Potomac River that killed all 67 people on board in January, and an air disaster on the Potomac River that repeated Delta flights in which everyone miraculously survived during the crash in Toronto last month.
