50 Cent Plans to Contact Trump Over Combs’ Pardon
Rapper 50 Cent has expressed his intention to reach out to former President Donald Trump, urging him to reconsider a potential pardon for Sean “Diddy” Combs. This follows comments from Trump regarding the public conversations surrounding the rapper’s legal troubles.
On Friday, when questioned about the possibility of pardoning Combs if he were found guilty of serious charges, Trump responded somewhat ambiguously. He acknowledged awareness of the situation but confessed he hadn’t paid much attention to the specifics. “No one asks. But I know people are thinking about it,” he stated, adding that he sensed quite a bit of speculation around the matter.
“I’ve seen what was going on but didn’t look very closely at it, but it certainly gets a lot of coverage,” Trump remarked about Combs’ ongoing trial.
He continued, reflecting on his past interactions with Combs, noting, “I’ve never seen him. I haven’t spoken to him in years… I think the relationship took a hit when I entered politics, but I never really heard directly from him.”
He concluded that the gravity of the situation would outweigh personal feelings. “If someone thinks that someone has been abused, whether they like me or not, then that doesn’t affect me,” he added.
On Instagram, 50 Cent reacted to Trump’s statements, planning to make his position clear to the former president. He expressed his discontent, stating, “He said something really bad about Trump, that’s not okay. I’ll reach out and he knows how I feel about this guy.” 50 Cent also warned that Trump should not be underestimated.
“While working tirelessly to make America great again, there’s no room for distractions,” he said, hinting at his opinion that the situation is about more than just personal relationships.
Additionally, he shared an article from the Daily Beast, critiquing Combs for what he perceives as attempts to manipulate sympathy in light of his legal issues.
Combs has been incarcerated at Brooklyn Federal Prison without bail since September and could face a life sentence if convicted.
