ISIS on Friday claimed responsibility for the attack on a large concert hall in Russia’s Moscow region that left more than 60 people dead and nearly 150 injured.
The attack began when gunmen in combat fatigues burst into Crocus Town Hall, where concertgoers had gathered to listen to the Russian band Picnic, and opened fire.
According to Russian media, the gunmen threw explosives into the concert hall and set the building on fire during the attack.
People were evacuated, but some remained trapped in burning buildings, Russian media said.

The Islamic State group made the claim on its social media channels, and the United States said it had information to support it, according to multiple news organizations.
Before ISIS claimed responsibility, Russian officials said the incident was being investigated as a terrorist attack. However, he did not say who would be responsible.
